Opportunity Overview

A comprehensive medical center with a team of over 100 pediatric sub-specialists is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Epileptologist to expand pediatric epilepsy services. This is a unique opportunity for a pediatric physician with demonstrated leadership and clinical expertise in epilepsy to shape and direct the development of an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and collaborate closely with an established team of pediatric neurologists and advanced practice providers.

Role Highlights

  • Drive the establishment and growth of a dedicated EMU

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to expand access to advanced diagnostics and treatment options for children with complex epilepsy

  • Provide a mix of inpatient care"including coverage of PICU, NICU, hospital floors, and scheduled inpatient EEG monitoring"as well as outpatient clinic care

  • Contribute to the only neurology practice in the area dedicated solely to pediatric patients, providing care for children with mild to complex neurological conditions

Qualifications

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology with special qualifications in Child Neurology and/or Epilepsy

  • Fellowship training in epilepsy or clinical neurophysiology preferred

  • Demonstrated clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Eligibility for an unrestricted Tennessee Medical License (or ability to obtain)

Academic and Leadership Opportunities

  • Potential for a faculty appointment with a major university, rank commensurate with experience

  • Opportunity to help build a new pediatric residency program, launching in 2027

  • Involvement in teaching and mentoring the next generation of pediatricians

Ideal Candidate

  • Expertise in diagnosis and management of pediatric epilepsy, including advanced epilepsy management (medical, dietary, surgical, neurostimulation therapies)

  • Experience in EMU operations, EEG interpretation, and multidisciplinary epilepsy care

  • Strong commitment to clinical excellence, team collaboration, and program development
