POSITION OVERVIEW
Account Executives are responsible for promoting sales and increasing market share in assigned territories. Account Executives collaborate with Sales Managers and Underwriters to increase FirstComp’s premium production. They form long lasting relationships with independent insurance agencies in order to retain their business. They must constantly seek new business while also servicing the needs of current clients. Account Executives are knowledgeable about FirstComp’s sales and underwriting strategies, and they are constantly seeking knowledge about competitors to enable FirstComp to maintain its competitive edge in the Workers’ Compensation marketplace.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Account Executives are based in FirstComp’s Regional Offices and will spend a significant amount of time on the phone communicating with FirstComp’s agent-clients. Specific job duties will include the following:
· Act as liaison between agent-clients and internal departments.
· Place outgoing calls to agents to follow up on quotes, renewal accounts and retread accounts.
· Generate leads in existing states and new states.
· Conduct telephone research into new markets to gather data about competitors and market conditions.
· Communicate pricing inefficiencies to Underwriters and Sales Managers.
· Travel to assigned territories to promote FirstComp and to support FirstComp’s outside Sales Managers.
· Collaborate with outside Sales Managers to represent FirstComp at conventions and seminars.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree required, business related preferred.
· Prior sales or customer service experience preferred.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point.
· Experience with Internet-based systems.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
· Ability to travel throughout the United States.
· Prefer candidates who desire a career in outside sales.
· Prefer candidates willing to relocate.
